Jen Zeunik

Following a career serving alongside public safety professionals and first responders (including leading teams that conducted after-action reviews of major critical incidents), I developed a deep appreciation for the resilience, dedication, bravery, and sacrifice required of these professionals and their families. I also came to recognize that, despite deep commitment to helping others, many first responders find it difficult to seek help for themselves. My passion is supporting first responders, military members, veterans, and their families as they build resilience, strengthen self-awareness, and develop the skills needed to thrive both during and after their careers in service.
I believe wellness is a lifelong journey, and every person has the capacity to create meaningful, lasting change with the right support. I also know the work of military and first responder families has deep meaning and purpose that serves as the foundation for their experience. My approach is grounded in a person-centered philosophy that recognizes each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to help my clients navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, interpersonal challenges, and other mental health concerns. I believe lasting wellness begins with understanding the connection between our thoughts, emotions, relationships, physical health, and sense of purpose.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology from Florida State University, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Georgia, and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Military and Veteran Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William & Mary. I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) working toward my full mental health counseling licence (LMHC) in the State of Florida. I have completed Hillsborough County’s Clinical Orientation and have enjoyed both fire rescue and law enforcement ride-alongs throughout my career. My husband is an Army veteran, and after more than 22 years of marriage, our family is proud to call Tampa home.
I am deeply grateful for the active-duty military members, veterans, first responders, and public safety professionals who serve our communities, and I hope to be able to support those who have given so much to our area and our country. Whether you are facing the effects of trauma, navigating life’s challenges, or simply looking to build a healthier and more fulfilling future, I strive to provide a compassionate, collaborative, and practical therapeutic environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward.
